Project Westpoint

This is an old Westpoint I picked up at a local bike swap meet a while back and I finally got around to working on it this weekend. First ordered task was to get the dry rotted tires off.  I have a brand new set of rubber...bit wider than the original but I will make it fit.  I ended up removing the rear fender and found that the lower brace was broken so I will be welding a new brace in along with a fender mount tab. I am trying to keep the patina of the bike as is in the picture as far as paint goes.  I will post more picture after the rear fender is situated on the old bike. Seems as though I will have to also remove all the rusty fender bolts and replace with shorter shank bolts to get the larger tires mounted and operating. I have a nice piece of leather from my old man chair so I am using it to recover the original seat. Overall the bike is a really neat piece and I look forward to showing it off in all its rusty glory after I am done updating it.  More to come...
